We have a lexmark x3480 printer/scanner?
Our Ink levels were low so I bought a colour ink and a black ink. But it looks as tho there is only room for one cartridge. Have I bought the wrong ink? Can you buy colour and black in one cartridge? (I’ve not seen any) The ink I’ve bought is genuine lexmark ink for our printer.

The Lexmark X3480 only takes one cartridge. It takes the #2 color cartridge. And not knowing what cartridges you purchased, I will guess you have the wrong cartridge.
The #2 does not have black in it, however, it mixes all three colors to make black. If you do a lot of black printing it is a waste.
There are no other cartridges for your printer, except the #2. I get my ink from http://www.oinkinkstore.com, and according to their website, they have the #2 in stock.
