Has anyone heard about the dangers of Laserjet printer emissions?
I have one in my office and I’m all paranoid now. I know it probably takes alot to do any harm, but I’m thinking about getting an air filter! I couldn’t find any more details about the printer hazards, like how much is bad or anything. Has anyone heard anything?
Im guessing your talking about the nfused toner that probably escapes into the air? Dont worry about it they are designed to keep as much toner as possible in them because of the expense. also it clings well to things so i doubt very much makes it past the internal air filters. unless ur huffing the toner ull be fine, coal miners lived for many years breathing in millions of more times of dust than ull ever breath of toner. so relax.

There is a vast difference between LaserJet and an Inkjet printer.
The LaserJet uses toner to produce the print on the paper’s surface. Toner lasts 20-30 times longer than an inkjet cartridge.
Inkjet cartridges are usually filled with soluble ink, and very little of it at that. They charge you high prices for these little cartridges. A toner cartridge for a LaserJet however may run you about $80, but will last for a good 5000-7000 prints.
The only drawback to a LaserJet is that you are limited to only Black ink, whereas the Inkjet allows for 4 to 5 color printing.
I’ve purchased both kinds of printers for my personal use. I’ve decided that I will buy a LaserJet anytime I have to make the decision.
If you think about it, the majority of the time, you will want black and white printouts anyway. Color would only be useful for printing pictures (which you can do really cheaply with any big box store’s online order system now), or making color flyers. LET THE OTHER GUY USE UP THEIR INK.
