Computer memory-the brain of a computer
In the digital world, the computer is considered as one of the most essential electronics of our lives. With the help of the computer, you can perform any type of work without any hassle. On the other hand, there are plenty of jobs that allow people to work from home simply using your personal computer. To work from home, you simply need a computer and Internet connection. As the brain human, the computer can keep all data and files with the help of computer memory. To store more files and data, a large storage space is needed for a computer.
How can we define the computer's memory? You already know that the computer front of you has no memory. What you may not know is that most electronic items of daily use have some kind of memory as well. Computer memory refers to devices that are used to store data or programs on a temporary or permanent use in an electronic digital computer. PC represents the information in binary code, written as sequences of 0s and 1s. Each computer has a certain amount of physical memory, usually referred to as main memory or RAM. You can think of main memory as a series of boxes, each of which can contain a single byte of information.
Today capacitors and transistors, which operate as tiny electrical switches are used for temporary storage, and any drives or tape with a magnetic layer or plastic discs with patterns bone is used for long term storage. Once again, the computer's memory is usually meant to refer to semiconductor technology that is used to store information on electronic devices. Current memory core team uses the integrated circuits consisting of transistors based on silicon. There are two main types of memory namely volatile and nonvolatile.
Volatile memory is a type of computer memory that requires power to maintain stored information. Current technology of semiconductor memory is generally volatile static RAM (See SRAM) or dynamic RAM (DRAM see).
Moreover, non-volatile memory is computer memory that can keep the information stored even when not powered. Examples of nonvolatile memory read-only memory (see ROM), flash memory, the majority of magnetic devices computer storage (eg hard disks, diskettes and magnetic tapes), optical disks, pen drives, etc.
